When you visit BioToolsIQ, we may automatically collect certain technical data through cookies and similar technologies:

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

3.1 What Google Analytics Does

Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how visitors use BioToolsIQ. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your truncated/anonymised IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers that may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

3.2 IP Anonymisation

We have activated IP anonymisation so that Google truncates your IP address within the EEA before transmission. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the US and truncated there.

3.3 Purpose and Legal Basis

We use Google Analytics to understand usage patterns and improve our tools. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the legal basis for this processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you provide through our cookie consent banner.

3.4 Data Sharing and Transfer

Google may transfer analytics data to the United States or other countries. Google participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

3.5 Data Retention

We have configured Google Analytics to retain user-level and event-level data for 14 months. After this period, data is automatically deleted on a monthly rolling basis.

3.6 Opt Out

In addition to rejecting cookies via our banner, you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Google Fonts

BioToolsIQ loads web fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, your IP address is transmitted to Google. Google’s Font API privacy information is available at developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy. Google states that font requests are not logged alongside authenticated Google service data and are not used for personalised advertising.

We use the information we collect to:
